How to Look Up Website Statistics and Traffic Rank
Alexa, Compete and Quantcast are very useful tools to look up traffic realted statistics for any website on the internet.
Alexa
Alexa's traffic rankings are based on the usage of the Alexa Toolbar users. Alexa also shows how many sites are linking to a specific site and determines the server speed of the server hosting a website.
Compete
Compete provides free information for every site on the Internet including site traffic history and competitive analytics; a list of available promotional codes across thousands of online retailers; and site-specific trust scores based on up-to-the-minute data from Compete and third party security services.
Quantcast
Advertisers can find reports on the audiences of millions of web sites. Publishers can ensure their sites are represented accurately by tagging them for direct measurement. The service is free to everyone.
While these sources are not always 100% accurate, they still give you an idea of the traffic ranking of a website or how much traffic a website might have.
