What Is SGML
SGML stands for "Standard Generalized Markup Language". SGML was developed and standardized by the International Organization for Standards (ISO). SGML is both a language and an ISO standard for describing information embedded within a document. HTML or HyperText Markup Language is based on the SGML standard.
